To ensure all coaches promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment for players, families, officials, and fellow coaches.
Expectations for Coaches
Respect the Game:
Demonstrate sportsmanship at all times.
Show respect for players, parents, opponents, and officials.
Accept umpire decisions without public disagreement or confrontation.
Be a Positive Role Model:
Lead by example through calm, respectful, and encouraging behavior.
Avoid yelling, sarcasm, or demeaning language.
Encourage effort, improvement, and teamwork over winning.
Ensure Player Safety and Development:
Prioritize player safety in all drills and game situations.
Provide instruction appropriate to the age and skill level of the players.
Promote fair playing time and development for all athletes.
Maintain a Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free Environment:
Coaches must not use tobacco, alcohol, or drugs during practices or games.
Communicate Effectively and Professionally:
Maintain open, honest, and respectful communication with parents and players.
Address concerns in private, not in front of the team.
Violations and Consequences
First Violation: Verbal warning from league or team leadership.
Second Violation: Written warning and potential suspension from one game.
Third Violation: Possible dismissal from coaching position.
